Dear friends in the health and beauty sector, I have just completed an incredible work journey, which was brilliantly rewarded by a final visit to a model company dedicated to innovation through research and development of what we call specialty chemicals for the cosmetics market. I must point out that most professionals in the sector would not believe that we have companies with green and yellow blood of such size, endowed with specific skills, so dedicated to innovation and equipped with the most advanced and new in the field of technological research and applied cosmetic science.
In the same week that I began my odyssey, I was able to watch on television yet another ZIC blunder, the biggest cartel in the world, aimed at the criminal use of formaldehyde. There they were on the police channels. Well, I believe that it is in this scenario of contrasts that we should point out the evolution of this strategic title that attracts so much attention.
I will begin by saying that all the measures that could and should have been taken to prevent this problem from spreading so that it would have been possible to combat the dissolution of the “professional” cosmetics market were unfortunately not taken. The fact is that it was too late, too late. All attempts were aborted by the political efforts of the companies that use these and other new drugs, and, as you all know, “unity is strength”.
Amidst the backstage of these events, just under a dozen researchers dedicated extra and precious time to the search for safe mechanisms for progressive volume reduction in hair. Brazil is now preparing to take the third step, since the second was taken by the advent of glyoxylic acid, which is still questioned by topic 92 of the RDC of January 3, 2012, our current list of restricted and controlled raw materials, which for all intents and purposes proves its irregularity [of glyoxylic acid] and justifies the huge list of side effects.
Brazil will start now a third phase of this great journey, where beauty “professionals” will be able to experience never-before-seen technologies, such as amino methylpropanol cysteamine and amino methylpropanol thioglycolate, both already patented. With the latter, the market will be able to carry out the dream of straight, light and blonde hair, without having to worry about the need for a strand test or the use of gloves.
There will be no need to worry about chemical compatibilities or varying tolerance levels to other chemical hair actives. There will be no side effects such as fading due to excessive acidification of the hair structure and the reducing potential will be truly progressive, allowing reapplications and overlays of the active. Within 1 or 2 years Brazil will still be able to taste the Sodium Metabisulfite, an oxidoreductor already patented for the complementary purpose of progressive volume reduction, and, in probable 3 or 4 years, the new generation of professionals will habitually use straightening and volume reducing mechanisms never thought of today. The good news is that from this point on it will be possible to position the “volume reducers”, also known as progressive brushes. as intermediate products to hair straighteners, just like today, we can position semi-permanent colors (toners) for permanent oxidation coloring.
